"Why don’t we sit down with each other once a quarter and see what we can do?"

Brigantia urges PC buying groups to unite

Brigantia’s divisional director Iain Shaw has called on other buying and dealer services groups to come together and discuss forming a wider trade association.

Shaw’s response follows comments made by Synaxon’s UK MD Derek Jones, who wrote the following article for PCR: ‘Why the IT channel needs its own trade association’.

Shaw told PCR: "Why don’t we all just get on with what all do well and strive to help our members more and more?

"Here is a thought – why don’t Synaxon, Network Group and Brigantia sit down with each other once a quarter and see what they can do together to deliver more of what Derek advocates? Perhaps promoting a central standard or national accreditation – it might even be CompTIAs.

"I would also suggest that COG (Integra) is included and perhaps Office Club and Office Point. There is so much convergence going on between tech, office products and comms channels.

"I would say the Internet of Things (IofT) is going to bring about a great deal more convergence and a reason for us talking to each other on a more regular basis."
