With a potential merger between Dixons and Carphone Warehouse on the cards, Himanshu Pal, director at Kantar Retail will give a talk entitled ‘Why you need to worry about Dixons again’ at PCR Boot Camp 2014, held at the Brewery in London On Wednesday May 21st.
Pal will discuss the successes, initiatives, and strategies Dixons has put in place in the last year, and why independent retailers and resellers need to take note.
“In a digitally enabled retail environment characterised by showrooming; Dixons recent performance in the UK is not only impressive but also underscores how physical stores can compete versus pure-play online retailers like Amazon,” said Pal. “While the retailer has benefited from external factors such as Comet’s market exit, the key ingredient in Dixons’ success story is internal rather than external. So what has Dixons done differently under Sebastian James leadership, and how can some of these best practices reinvigorate the flagging fortunes of high street retailers? These are some of the questions I will address in my speech of May 21st.”
