Distributor VIP Computers increased sales of Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics cards by 40 per cent in 2013 compared to 2012.
Rich Marsden, director at VIP, commented:“There a lot of talk about the decline of PC gaming which couldn’t be further from the truth. VIP is seeing exactly the opposite, with gamers wanting the latest performance hardware or to upgrade their system with high-end components.
“As the largest VGA distributor in the UK, VIP is well positioned to serve the needs of its growing customer base. Our vendor portfolio is second-to-none and with the depth of our product offering and ever-expanding presence in the PC gaming market, this announcement is further proof that we are the dominant force in this particular sector.”
Matt Wright, consumer sales manager of distribution for Northern Europe at Nvidia, added:“VIP increased GeForce GTX graphics card sales by 40 per cent in 2013 compared to 2012. This strong performance, which was above industry average, enhances VIP’s positioning in the PC gaming sector as well as in the overall UK market. We look forward to a future together building on these excellent results.”
VIP says it has strengthened its market share and further established its status as a leading components distributor and major player in the PC gaming sector. It says it has seen strong sales growth across multiple categories – with particular success in Video Graphics Array (VGA).
