Mark Burton named new MD of PCR publisher Intent Media

NewBay Media has announced that Mark Burton has been named Managing Director of NewBay Media Europe/Intent Media, which publishes PCR.

Mark most recently led Incisive Media’s Insurance Group as its Group Publishing Director, where he was responsible for a wide portfolio of magazine, digital and event properties.

He managed a portfolio of brands that included Post, Insurance Age and Insurance Hound. During his time at Incisive Media, Mark was instrumental in launching new, data-driven digital products, expanding the Insurance events portfolio into new territories and gaining substantial subscription growth through digital corporate licenses.

Prior to his most recent position at Incisive, Burton was Publisher of Incisive’s Computer Reseller News (CRN), Accountancy Age and Financial Director. Earlier experience includes executive positions at VNU Business Media.

“Mark is an accomplished media executive with an impressive track record,” said Steve Palm, CEO, NewBay Media. "He is the right person to further develop our magazine, digital and event capabilities and aggressively grow our European business. I am excited to have him join our team.”

Burton added: “NewBay’s depth and breadth in the markets it serves offers a unique opportunity for growth and expansion. I am looking forward to working with the team to build on the success of the current products, and delivering the best service we can to our customers.

"This is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to get started."

Mark takes over the position from Stuart Dinsey, who left the company in October 2013.

Mark will work out of both the London and Hertford NewBay Media Europe offices, and will report directly to Steve Palm. He can be reached at mark.burton@intentmedia.co.uk.
