Distributor aims to raise £20,000 for local charity

VIP nominates St Rocco’s hospice as charity for 2014

Distributor VIP Computers has nominated its local Warrington hospice, St Rocco’s, as its dedicated charity for 2014.

St Rocco’s is an independent hospice and registered charity that provides specialist care for patients from Warrington and the surrounding area that have cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

The institution includes ten en-suite rooms offering short stay accommodation and a 25-place day care unit that offers therapies, relaxation and support. Running costs for the hospice total around £2.9 million each year.

As well as nominating St Rocco’s as its charity for 2014, VIP also announced a pledge to double its fundraising total from last year, to a total of over £20,000.

“We regularly hold events throughout the year to raise money for numerous charities but this year we have decided to focus our efforts on supporting a single local charity,” explained Rich Marsden, director of VIP Computers.

“We have set a target of raising £10,000 for St Rocco’s by the end of the year. If the target is reached, then VIP will double it to £20,000.”

“We are proud to pledge our support, it is a very deserving charity and a vital component in supporting the needs of the local community.”

“We are delighted that VIP Computers has chosen to nominate St Rocco’s as its charity for 2014,” added Ali White, matron of St Rocco’s.

“Each and every donation received goes towards helping us achieve our aim; to help patients and families through a difficult journey that they are undertaking by providing care and compassion in a friendly and supportive environment.”

“Most of our funds are generated by the local community, so the additional donation from VIP Computers will be a great help in reaching our annual target.”
