Deal said to be catalyst for launch of etailer’s own-brand products

Mobile Fun acquires accessories manufacturer Playfect

Mobile accessories etailer Mobile Fun has purchased Playfect.

The acquisition of the mobile and gaming accessories manufacturer’s brand, operations and assets is said to be the catalyst for Mobile Fun’s upcoming distribution and own-brand product launches.

In particular, the addition of Playfect’s Chinese arm, which holds existing direct relationships with factories, was said to be a “vital strategic asset” for Mobile Fun.

“The Playfect acquisition accelerates our ambitious growth strategy as it benefits our existing business while jumpstarting our plans to launch own brand accessories,” said Mobile Fun MD Mohammed Hussain.

“We now have a fully developed product design, sourcing and quality control capability ready to supply the retail and distribution sectors in both the UK and internationally.”

“This exciting new development will cement our position as a global online retailer while opening up a host of new opportunities. Our presence in China increases the speed at which we source an even wider range of products, and improves our ability to provide ‘Everything First’.”

“Mobile Fun is a very exciting company with a proven global business approach,” added Liran Akavia, co-founder of firm Tool Interactive, which previously owned Playfect.

“We believe that the Playfect business has an exciting future under Mobile Fun’s leadership and will benefit immensely from its global infrastructure and mobile sector expertise.”

“Playfect’s commitment to innovation, quality and supplying a wide product range will definitely continue with Mobile Fun."
