Here’s what you might have missed from CES 2014.

BEFORE THE SHOW

PCR asked Allie Fried, manager of International Communications at the Consumer Electronics Association, what to expect from this year’s CES.

3D SYSTEMS

3D printing plastic is so 2013. 3D Systems has gone all Star Trek and taken a step towards replicating edible items with its ChefJet food printers.

AMD

The processor and graphics vendor showed off its new line of APUs and a high-end tablet/controller hybrid for gaming.

ASUS

One world not sufficient, Asus revealed a smartphone that can transform into a tablet.

CORNING

The super-strong glass maker fended off grubby screens with a bacteria-beating version of its Gorilla Glass.

DREAMWORKS

The children’s movie studio announced the DreamTab: a content-driven tablet made in partnership with Fuhu.

HP

Following last year’s announcement of laptops aimed at business users, HP has also revealed a business-orientated tablet.

IGROW

Bald men with dreams of luscious locks rejoice: a new tech helmet claims it can reverse hair loss in under a year.

INNOVEGA

Seattle startup Innovega announced smart contact lenses that offer enhanced focusing abilities.

INTEL

The component vendor demonstrated its mini SD card-sized PC, the Edison.

McAfee Security, which Intel acquired in 2010, has begun a transformation into Intel Security, dropping the name of its notorious creator.

Hoping to make motions at the event, Intel showed off its RealSense motion technology and wearable devices.

KOGAN

The Australian manufacturer showcased a 55-inch Ultra High Definition TV costing AUD$999 (£550).

LENOVO

The PC maker hit CES hard with 15 new products – including a laptop it claims to be ‘virtually indestructible’.

LG

The company unveiled the world’s largest 4K TV and its LifeBand fitness tracker.

MAD CATZ

The gaming accessories firm shook things up with its Freq4D vibrating headset.

OCULUS

The Virtual Reality firm revealed the latest iteration of the Rift headset. Named ‘Crystal Cove’, the upgrade adds positional tracking and does away with the latency of previous models.

PULSEWALLET

The PulseWallet uses palm recognition to identify customers, which is said to be faster and more secure than fingerprint scanning.

RAZER

The gaming accessories company showed off a concept for the future of desktop computers. Project Christine is a modular tower that allows quick swapping of components without the need for technical knowledge.

It has also jumped into the wearable tech market with its latest products – the Nabu smartband.

ROKU

The set-top box maker announced its first smart TV, which will come with its streaming services built in.

SAMSUNG

Four new Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablet devices were announced during the electronic giant’s keynote.

Combining two major trends at the event, Samsung revealed a 4K TV that can curve at the touch of a button.

SAMSUNG & SHARP

Both companies have demonstrated their concepts for 8K, or ‘Quad Ultra High Definition’ (QUHD), televisions.

SEAGATE

The storage specialist revealed the world’s first 4TB drive.

SONY

PlayStation Now will offer PlayStation One, 2 and 3 titles as part of a game-streaming subscription service on PS4, Vita, Bravia TVs and other devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Sony showed off a number of products, including a 4K camcorder, wedge-shaped TVs and the new Xperia Z1 and Z1S smartphones.

TOSHIBA

Three is no longer the magic number for Toshiba, which revealed its concept for a five-in one "shape-shifting" PC.

VALVE

14 partners for the upcoming Steam Machine gaming PC/console systems were announced, including the first official UK Steam Machine from Scan Computers.

YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED…

Dacor has shown off what it calls the world’s first ‘smart professional cooking range for the home’, including a ‘smart oven’ with an in-built Android tablet.

The firm behind a full-body motion-tracking suit has joined forces with VR headset maker Oculus to provide more immersion to gamers.

A techno toothbrush aims to improve dental health by keeping track of how well users brush.

Movie director Michael Bay walked offstage after fluffing his speech at the Samsung press conference.

The latest version of the Sphero, the 2B, is rolling into town with a new design.

Epson has showcased wearable tech for businesses with its Moverio smart glasses.

T-Mobile boss John Legere was thrown out of the CES party for rival firm AT&T. "I wanna be free, I want to just live.@ATT preferred I didn’t do so in their party," Legere tweeted.

Bluetooth smart lock and password app take home showdown prizes.

AND THE REST

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S5 will not be among the products announced at this year’s CES.
