Sinclair ZX Spectrum hoping for re-launch through Kickstarter campaign

Elite Systems has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a recreated Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

The re-launch will actually be a Bluetooth keyboard, initially for iOS, in the form-factor of a 48k Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Android, Windows phones, tablets and PCs and Macs will also eventually be able to use it.

“When used in conjunction with the simultaneously released and separately sold Bluetooth ZX Spectrum apps, available from the iTunes App Store and subsequently from the Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store, the Bluetooth ZX Spectrum will provide authentic rubber-key play-control over a comprehensive catalogue of 100 per cent original, officially licenced, paid-for Bluetooth ZX Spectrum games via a secure App Store environment,” says Elite Systems.

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum was for released in the UK in 1982 and since launch some 10,000 games have been created for it.
