Price includes keepsake video of one-on-one chat

‘Hello Santa’ offers a real-time video call with Santa for £9

A new app is offering children the chance to chat with Santa via video call.

‘Hello Santa’ connects kids one-on-one with a live real-life Santa, rather than relying on pre-recorded clips.

The $15 (£9) call also includes a keepsake video of the chat.

The app is the first release from Make Believe Labs, one member of which is Ed Taylor, who has portrayed the red-suited figure on TV as well as in magazines and parades.

Parents can input their child’s name, age range and any other notes in the app before making the call, meaning that Santa will address the child by name.

Make Believe Labs hopes to extend the technology for use with other ‘characters’ in the future, for instance by licensing the platform out to companies who own popular characters.

The Hello Santa app is available on iOS, Android, PC and Mac.
