Also reckons the need for laptop connectivity add-ons will grow

StarTech.com sees ‘huge demand’ for AV adapters

StarTech.com, provider of hard-to-find connectivity parts, is seeing "huge demand" for AV adapters.

UK country manager Sean McSweeney told PCR: "Some of our biggest selling products right now are AV adapters. There’s a huge demand for them since many of the new Ultrabooks and Macbooks no longer have integrated HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA or Ethernet ports. Many peripherals such as displays and projectors need this connectivity so an adapter is required.

"This is where StarTech.com comes in – our huge selection of connectivity parts support both legacy and the newest technology, ensuring our customers can always quickly source the adapters they need."

McSweeney also said he expects more smaller laptops to emerge which will give resellers an added opportunity.

"Mobility and smaller, lighter laptops continue to be a growing trend," he added. "We see this as a huge opportunity for resellers as these types of products create the need for specialised connectivity add-ons that will allow them to enhance their solution sales and generate additional revenue.

"Every market shift and new technology brings additional opportunities and we’re helping resellers to identify what those opportunities are based on the markets they serve.

"In 2014 we plan to continue to bring many new, innovative connectivity products to the market to support all the new technologies being used."
