iPads blamed as Brits have sex less often

Brits are having sex less frequently according to a new survey, and a professor says it’s partly due to iPads and computers.

UK people aged between 16 and 44 have sex under five times per month compared to just over six times as of 2000, the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (Natsal) found, as reported by The Guardian. 

Professor Kaye Wellings from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine said: "There’s a strong relationship between unemployment and low sexual function, according to the literature.

"That is to do with low self-esteem, depression. At the other end of the scale iPads and computers have all breached the boundary between the home and the bedroom."

Another reason is that fewer Brits are married or cohabiting so have less opportunity to have sex, but sexual frequency has also decreased with those who live with a partner.

The study, carried out between September 2010 and August 2012, also found that women have had 7.7 sexual partners on average (up from 3.7 some 20 years ago), while men have had 11.7 (up from 8.6).

Earlier this month, Doctor Wang said smartphone games can cause erectile dysfunction. Honestly, we do not make these news stories up.
