Sony hopes to sell 5m by March 2014

Over 1m PS4s sold in first 24 hours

Sony has announced that over one million PlayStation 4 consoles were sold in North America during its first 24 hours of availability.

The firm has a goal of moving five million units before the end of its fiscal year in March. So one million in the first day will definitely help it achieve this.

Last week Sony opened up a PS4 Lounge in Covent Garden, London, giving the public the chance to get hands-on with the console before its UK launch – November 29th.

The console’s rival – the Xbox One – will launch globally on November 22nd. We’ll be interested to see how many it sells in the first 24 hours…
