Microsoft free 3D printing app launched for Windows 8.1

Microsoft has unveiled a 3D printing app for Windows 8.1, allowing users to create their own 3D printable objects.

The free app comes loaded with a number of pre-made objects that can be modified. Users can also make their own 3D objects from scratch.

“We’re entering an exciting new era in which everyone will be able to create and print three dimensional objects. Just imagine being able to print a spare part for a household appliance, or creating your own jewellery line of custom 3D-printed earrings,” reads Microsoft’s blog.

“With Windows 8.1 and the 3D Builder app, all of that is now possible.”
