First experience store will open in New York on November 23rd

VIDEO: Intel to open retail pop-up shops

Chip maker Intel is opening its own retail pop-up experience stores in the US this Christmas.

The first shop will open on November 23rd in New York City’s NoLita area and will show off the latest technology to customers.

It is also inviting local businesses to help create free in-store events and talks for kids and adults, and is giving away free coffee each day and showing movies every Friday.

Intel tech experts will be in-store to help customers find the right device for them, with the option for visitors to buy online in-store.

"This is not your average pop-up retail store," said an Intel spokesperson. "We are redefining retail and intend to reshape the consumer experience.

"Intel is bringing its global brand to a local audience with an experience that’s new and a first ever for Intel. The pop-up will physically change three times a day. We like to say the stores will become whatever the community wants them to be."

Intel is also inviting local tech inventors to showcase their skills and take part in a Tech Disruptors Program challenge, plus it’s recycling used electronics for charity.
