Distributor Tech Data – formerly known as C2000 – has appointed Mark Glasspool as Director for Consumer Electronics.
He will have responsibility for the company’s portfolio of vendor partners in the consumer electronics space, including Philips, Samsung and Sony.
Glasspool will take charge of a team of ten staff, and will look to increase the vendor portfolio and breadth of customers that Tech Data works with in the UK.
He has been at Tech Data for more than 13 years and will continue to carry out his responsibility for directing strategic opportunities, which he has done for the past two years.
Previously, Glasspool spent two years as a senior group manager within Tech Data’s European organisation, prior to which he was general manager of the PC systems business unit in the UK and Ireland.
Glasspool said: “The CE sector is dynamic and fast-moving and one in which we can leverage the credibility of Tech Data has in terms of excellence in logistics management and fulfilment, and the strong relationships we have with major electronics brands to significantly expand our presence in the consumer electronics market.”
