But week-one sales were 24% lower than FIFA 13's

FIFA 14 tops PC and All Formats game charts

FIFA 14 made its UK debut on Friday September 27th and has gone straight to the top of the boxed PC game chart, knocking Rome: Total War 2 into second place.

EA’s latest football game also topped the All Formats chart.

However, FIFA 14’s week-one sales were down 24 per cent in volume compared to FIFA 13’s week-one sales made last year.

UKIE/Gfk Chart-Track said in a statement: "[This was] possibly due to all the money spent last week [when GTA 5 topped the All Format chart] and also perhaps due to the nature of a transitional year, where consumers may be delaying this purchase until PS4/Xbox One versions are available.

"In terms of eight-format games, only two other titles have been released simultaneously in the same week on eight formats (EA’s FIFA 13 last year and EA’s Need For Speed: Carbon back in 2006, another transitional year)."
