95-inch ME95C boasts 3840x2160 quad HD resolution

Samsung unveils world’s largest LED Edge-lit screen, bigger ones on the way

Samsung has revealed the world’s largest edge-lit LED screen – the 95-inch ME95C model – at the Midwich Tech Exposed event today.

The vendor is also planning to launch even larger edge-lit LED screens in the future – a 98-inch and a 110-inch model.

The ME95C ‘professional display’ boasts 3840×2160 quad HD resolution, with 5000:1 contrast, and Samsung says it’s big enough to display a lifesize 6ft fashion model. It can be placed vertically or horizontally, with the Samsung logo able to be removed.

It also features a 12.3mm bezel width and a 45.8mm depth of screen – a 60 per cent reduced depth compared to "conventional CCFL products".

The ME95C screen has 290 watts power consumption, compared to a standard 920 watts, and it weighs 66.5kg.

It’s also part of Samsung’s Smart Signage Platform, which offers businesses and retailers up to 70 different free templates. It’s WiDi 2.0 compatible, too, allowing users to connect devices to the screen.

There’s a PC plug in module on the screen to use it as a digital whiteboard or as digital signage.
