Director of Programming for Xbox Live Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb tweeted the picture

Xbox One retail packaging revealed by Microsoft employee

A Microsoft employee has released the first image of the packaging in which the Xbox One will ship.

Larry Hryb, the Director of Programming for Xbox Live, known by his gamertag ‘Major Nelson’, tweeted the picture (see the full-size image below), saying it was “the very first #XboxOne off the assembly line.”

Hryb had previously posted a video of himself unboxing the ‘Day One 2013’ edition of the Xbox One in August.

The green packaging revealed by Hryb suggests that the unit is a standard Xbox One, rather than the ‘Day One’ edition or the exclusive ‘Special Edition White’ console given to Microsoft employees.

The Xbox One will launch in the UK on November 22nd, a week ahead of Sony’s PS4.
