Twitter has hired Google’s former head of media and entertainment ad sales as it expands its TV and movie partnerships.
Jennifer Prince joins to social network to help market it as a valuable ‘social soundtrack’ for televised events, reports Variety.
So what the hell is a social soundtrack? Well, Prince’s job will be to pitch new ways movies and TV marketers can use the Twitter platform, explaining how the site can enhance marketing of TV shows and films. Basically, more TV show a movie advertising on Twitter, resulting in more people tweeting about them.
Prince also told the publication that there’s a possibility that this could expand into the videogame industry as well.
Prior to joining Google in 2011, Prince worked as head of branded ad sales at Demand Media. Before that, she spent time at YouTube as a sales team manager.
