Belkin has released a range of cases for the iPhone and iPad featuring exclusive designs from fashion designer Orla Kiely.
Each case is styled after a hand-selected signature print from Kiely’s collection of textile patterns.
Kiely, known for her handbags, has designed less conventional fashion items before, having featured her work on Brita water bottles, a range of Citroen cars and a London bus.
The cases incorporate customisable viewing angles to reduce the effect of typing on the user’s wrists and soft-touch impact-resistant moulding grips. “Each case is designed first and foremost to keep your devices safe and secure, and is incredibly minimalist, giving you maximum protection without adding bulk,” said Albert Farag, Belkin’s product manager for smartphone accessories.
Featuring cases for the iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5, iPad Mini and each iPad from the second generation onwards, the collection comes in a variety of styles, ranging from snap-closing wallet and wraparound frame designs for the iPhone to the strap-secured iPad cases. Each case is currently available in two of Kiely’s leaf-inspired patterns, either in bright multi-colours or in a monochromatic two-tone.
Belkin isn’t the first to feature fashion-inspired designs for the ever-popular market of smartphone and tablets. Last month Carphone Warehouse announced the summer release of its Kate Moss Accessories Collection, targeting the growing use of technology as a fashion statement.
The cases range between £24.99 for the iPhone 4/4S and 5 and £54.99 for the full-size iPad covers.
