McGlinchey brings nearly two decades of IT industry experience to the role

CompTIA appoints John McGlinchey as Senior VP for Global Business Development

CompTIA has announced the promotion of John McGlinchey to senior vice president, global business development.

“John’s creativity, energy and skills make him the right choice to lead our global sales team,” said Terry Erdle, executive vice president, skills certification, CompTIA. “He is extremely well-versed in the way an industry association operates, especially in areas such as membership growth, engagement, communications, international business, public policy and workforce development.”

McGlinchey has nearly two decades of IT industry experience, primarily in IT education. He most recently served at CompTIA’s vice president for Europe and the Middle East and was responsible for certification sales throughout 40 countries.

“IT professionals and employers alike rely on CompTIA’s suite of certifications because they deliver a competitive advantage for any business in a cost-conscious marketplace,” said McGlinchey. “CompTIA certified IT staff have a greater ability to understand new and complex technologies; are more productive; and bring more insightful problem-solving to the workplace.”
