Distributor announces two new deals

Target appointed UK distributor for Yarvik tablets and Grundig accessories

Target Components has announced two new distribution deals, one with tablet maker Sweex, and the other with TV and radio manufacturer Grundig.

Target has been appointed official UK distributor of Yarvik tablets and accessories by manufacturer Sweex. The Yarvik range includes a number of 7- to 13-inch tablet models and a range of accessories.

The tablets feature the latest Android Jelly Bean operating system, up to 1GB RAM and A7 to A9 processors providing seamless video playback, smooth graphics and easy multitasking.

The flagship Xenta model also boasts an IPS screen, whereas the much-anticipated Junior Tablet will feature a ruggedised chassis, parental setup and children’s apps upon launch on July 12th.

Target has experienced disappointment as other tablets have failed its rigorous testing process, particularly with quality issues on cheaper models. The distributor’s commercial manager, Kevin Barber, explains: “We have tested several different tablet brands in the past year-or-so but none have come close to providing what we, and our customers, have been looking for in terms of quality, support and price point. But Yarvik addresses all of these concerns and there is plenty of margin to be made too, particularly when the tablets are bundled with accessories.”

Yarvik will be exhibiting at Target’s Open Day on September 13th in Leeds.

As well as its deal with Sweex, Target has also announced that it is the first UK distributor to stock the Grundig range of headphones, mice, webcams and security hardware. The brand also provides an extensive range of retail-packaged cables.

Target’s managing director, Paul Cubbage, explains: "Retail packaged cables offer independent retailers great margins whilst wiping the floor with prices at the multiples. Grundig offers all this plus really attractive packaging and a recognised quality brand."

The Grundig range joins the lineup of retail-ready accessories and peripherals at Target that includes Cooler Master, Gigabyte, Logitech, Emprex and Evo Labs.
