Release cancelled in the UK after poor sales in the US

HTC cancels Facebook Phone UK release

The HTC First ‘Facebook Phone’ will no longer be going on sale in the UK.

It has emerged today that the device will no longer be given a UK release, with Mobile News reporting that pre-orders for the Facebook Phone have now been cancelled.

“The HTC First has been pulled and will never go on sale in the UK. Sales in the US were poor and Facebook has taken the decision not to give it a more widespread release,” said Mobile News’ source.

The HTC First was launched in the US back in April and was expected to get a summer release in the UK.

The news follows today’s official unveiling of the new HTC Desire 600 smartphone, which is due to arrive in June.
