Blackberry lets users interact with celebs via new BBM Channels

Blackberry has launched a new social media service called BBM channels.

Unveiled at the company’s BlackBerry Live 2013 event, BBM Channels will enable users to chat about their favourite companies and celebrities as well as interact with them.

The F1 Mercedes AMG Petronas team will be one of the first companies to feature on the new service.

Any user can create a ‘Channel’, after which others can follow them to receive updates. Public figures can send news or status updates to users, who can then like or comment on them.

So, basically Twitter then?
