PCR talks to Belfast-based IT service provider, PC MediTech.
Tell us about your business – what products and services do you offer?
PC MediTech was launched three years ago by technicians Noel Maguire and Danny O’Rawe. We believed there was a gap in the market for an honest and cost effective IT company. This has been the company’s guiding principle from its inception and one that has clearly found favour among our growing customer base.
We have recently expanded, acquiring the premises adjoining the original shop, doubling our floor space and trebling our workforce in less than three years.
Who are your customers?
Our business has four distinct areas of expertise…
- Business: Providing a cost effective IT solution for the SMB sector.
- Residential: We run a repair centre with a team of experienced and qualified technicians offering computer and laptop repairs/upgrades for the general public; we are currently ranked third in the UK by www.freeindex.com.
- Online: We offer an all inclusive solution from domain purchase to hosting and the design of websites.
- Retail: We have a full range of quality products for sale at PC MediTech with an online retail presence to be launched later in 2013.
How has business been?
Whilst other IT related businesses have come and gone in the past 12 months, PC MediTech continues to grow and expand. With new staff appointed and newly extended premises, we have seen our annual turnover increase by 70 per cent. PC MediTech were also nominated for the Top 40 Under 40 Business Award at the start of this year.
What’s coming up for you in 2013?
We envisage our customer base expanding and with that, the introduction of new team members. We are currently developing an online retail presence providing both the North and the South of Ireland with a service which is currently unavailable for that geographical spread.
What are the benefits of trade organisations like Synaxon?
Synaxon allows us to access companies and suppliers that previously would not have been available to PC MediTech. We now have multiple accounts with some of the leading suppliers of IT goods in the UK, our own account managers with these suppliers and a contact person at Synaxon who is available by email or phone to answer any queries.
