HTC Watch to shut in 6 countries by May 31st

HTC has announced that it is to close its Watch movie store in Denmark, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.

The firm explained in a statement to Engadget that it is looking to concentrate on supporting Watch in the regions where it is most popular.

"As we continue to deliver new content for HTC Watch, we’ve made the decision to focus our efforts on markets with the highest engagement,” reads the statement.

There have been reports that HTC Watch will shutdown in Italy as soon as May 15th, with other regions closing by the end of the month.

“After May 31, we’ll discontinue support for HTC Watch in countries with less application traffic."
