New line to be sold under the Republic of Gamers brand

Asus to launch own-brand SSD range

Asustek Computer is working on an ultra high-end SSD with PCI Express 2.0 interface.

Xbitlabs.com reports that the SSD solution will be sold under the Republic of Gamers brand and will offer ‘extreme levels of performance’.

DigiTimes also reports the same branding, stating that the new line will be released in May 2013. The site also reports that sources claim Asus intends to promote the ROG brand as having better compatibility and product consistency, in a bid to maintain leadership in the high-end PC retail channel.

The SSD solution is expected to maintain full compatibility with all major chipsets and operating systems, and can be used as a bootable drive for accelerated PC performance across the board.
