The South Korean phone-maker has lost yet another patent fight against Apple, this time in the UK’s High Court.
Samsung claimed that Apple had infringed a number of the firm’s patents over its inclusion of technology, which allowed users to send and receive data via 3G networks.
The defeat is just another in a small space of time for Samsung, with the firm losing a similar case against Apple in Japan last week.
Samsung had hoped to have Apple’s iPhone device banned within the country, but instead ruled in favour of Cupertino.
It sums up a disappointing court run for Samsung, who had filed a number of patent cases against Apple across the world since 2011, but has achieved little success with only a small number of victories.
In response to the decision by the UK High Court, Samsung issues a statement highlighting the firm’s disappointment and consideration of filing an appeal.
"For decades, we have heavily invested in pioneering the development of technological innovations in the mobile industry, which have been constantly reflected in our products," said a Samsung spokesperson.
Apple has yet to comment on the result.
