Lenovo showcases new quad-core tablets

Lenovo has announced it is to offer new seven-inch and ten-inch tablet devices, both of which will be powered by quad-core processors and run Google’s latest Android 4.2 operating system.

First up is the S6000 device, which is marketed as a "mobile home entertainment centre" and packs a ten-inch screen capable of a 1280×800 resolution in addition to a "super slim profile".

Meanwhile, the smaller A3000 tablet designed for entry-level buyers offers a seven-inch screen with a resolution of up to 1024×600 and draws close similarities to Google’s Nexus 7 device.

At the heart of both devices is MediaTeks MTK8389/8125 quad-core processor, which is clocked at 1.5GHz and will run Android’s 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system – one of the few firms to offer a tablet with the OS.

Lenovo says both tablets will be available towards the middle of the year, but remained tight-lipped on the pricing of both devices.
