The latest earnings report released by Nvidia reveals the firm hit record revenue in both Q4 2012 and across the entire fiscal year.
Nvidia’s revenue across the final three months of 2012 hit $1.1 billion, an increase of 16.1 per cent of the same period of the previous year.
Even more impressive was the firm’s net income for the quarter, which rose by 50 per cent, hitting $174 million.
Across the entire 2013 fiscal year, Nvidia hit record revenues of $4.28 billion, a 7.1 per cent year-on-year increase.
However, net income for the year fell by 3.2 per cent to $562 million.
Nvidia has celebrated growth in both its GPU division and mobile processor lines, with the Tegra processor largely responsible for the firm’s increased earnings.
The manufacturer’s Tegra lineup generated $764 million of the full year’s revenue and has experienced heightened demand as a result of the continuously growing tablet market, with many of the most popular devices powered by the mobile processor.
Nvidia chief executive officer Jen-Hsun Huang summarised the news, saying: "This year we did the best work in our company’s history."
"We grew our GPU and Tegra processor businesses. We are sampling production silicon of the Tegra 4 platform, which includes our 4G LTE modem."
Huang also moved to discuss the firm’s nee technologies moving forward, stating: "We created new pillars for long term growth with Project Shield and Nvidia Grid — first-of-their-kind devices that will extend our leadership in visual computing and the cloud."
