Peter Jones to relaunch Jessops as an online business

Former Jessops director David Adams to take on Peter Jones in online camera market

David Adams has been appointed chairman of Park Cameras as the retailer goes head-to-head with Jessops, which is now owned by Dragons’ Den start Peter Jones.

Park Cameras has a turnover of £20m and Adams believes there is room in the market for a service-led camera specialist after the collapse of Jessops. “Park Cameras is well known to me and has a good online business. It’s a business I’ve always admired,” he told Retail Week.

Jones acquired Jessops after its collapse last month and plans to relaunch the brand as an online business, putting the two online camera retailers in direct competition.

Although Parks Cameras is mainly an online business, it does have a flagship store in West Sussex, and Adams hinted that the retailer might be looking to open more physical stores in the future.
