Apple has released a fix to its latest iOS 6.1, which saw users of the firm’s iPhone 4S suffer network and 3G connection issues.
In response to the problems, the firm has since released iOS 6.1.1 to address the problems facing iPhone 4S owners.
Vodafone warned its 4S-based customers yesterday not to upgrade to the new OS as it had receive multiple complaints of connectivity issues and blackouts.
The provider advised customers via text that: "Some customers may occasionally experience difficulty in connecting to the network to make or receive calls or texts or to connect to the internet."
Whilst Apple failed to comment on the issue, Vodafone advised that the firm was busily working on a fix to the problem, which resulted in today’s iOS update.
In the description of iOS 6.1.1, Apple simply states: "This update fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S."
Users of other iPhone devices shouldn’t worry as the update is strictly limited to 4S owners only, with iOS 6.1.1 not available for any other iPhone models.
