Lucky UK users will be the first to get their hands on the new device

BlackBerry Z10 hits the UK

BlackBerry’s latest flagship smartphone, the Z10, has gone on sale in the UK, the first country to offer the device.

BlackBerry announced the device – along with its latest operating system and name change from Research in Motion – at last night’s Experience event, which was streamed throughout the world.

UK users will be the first to get their hands on the firm’s flagship smartphone, which is set to rival the likes of Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy series.

Prospective UK buyers have a wide choice of carriers for the device, with all of the country’s major networks offering the device from today, including EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.

Whilst users are spoilt for choice, they want to consider the latter’s offering, with Phones4U offering the device along with a number of added benefits.

Phones4U has announced that the first 250 buyers of the Z10 evil receive a free 64GB BlackBerry Playbook tablet, in addition to being the only UK carrier to offer the Z10 in white on launch day.

The Z10 packs a 4.2-inch screen, offering up a resolution of up to 1,280 x 768 and 356 pixels per inch – which, in terms of ppi actually provides a sharper picture than the iPhone 5 and its 326 ppi display.

Additional specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and built-in storage of 16GB, which is expandable to 64GB via microSD card.
