Upgraded facility offers 500,000 square feet

C2000 gets ready for growth with warehouse extension

Computer 2000 has announced it has opened a 120,000 square foot expansion to its Midlands-based warehouse.

The new expansion is set to increase the capacity of the location by over 30 per cent as the firm anticipates further growth of its business throughout 2013.

Andy Dow, group marketing director at Computer 2000, said: “We have had a good year in terms of the overall growth of our business. We are doing more business with more resellers more often. We have added 1,700 new customers over the past 12 months, taking the total number of businesses we serve in the UK to over 13,000, and provided £1.2 billion of credit to the channel.”

The new Leicester-based Magna Park logistics facility and warehouse covers 500,000 square feet and deals with over 5,000 orders and 100,000 items on a daily basis, which it ships to locations across the UK and Ireland.

“The extended warehouse will enable us to execute on those plans and keep on delivering the consistently high levels of service all our customers rightly expect,” continued Dow.

As the UK and Ireland operation of Tech Data Europe, Computer 2000 is one of the UK’s largest distributors, which works with 125,000 resellers in over 100 contries. The firm anticipates strong growth as it moves into 2013, as parent company Tech Data ended its last fiscal year with $26.5 billion in net sales.

“We have clear aims and ambitions moving forward,” summarised Dow.
