Poll reveals 40% of men exaggerate about their tech know-how to impress women

Rise of the technosexuals: 56% of women find tech guys sexy

Rather than being attracted to firemen and sports stars, a new poll from computer upgrade site Crucial.com reveals that 59 per cent of women prefer a tech-savvy man.

This puts technosexuals – straight men who are in love with mobile devices, gadgets and the internet – ahead of car enthusiasts, who are favoured by 49 per cent of women.

The poll reveals that 40 per cent of men exaggerate about their tech know-how in order to impress the ladies. However 80 per cent of women say they never believe those that are all mouth and no action.

60 per cent of those surveyed wish they knew more about tech, compared to 33 per cent for cars, 28 per cent for property, 17 per cent for music, 14 per cent for fashion, and 11 per cent for sport.

Roddy McLean, a computer upgrade expert from Crucial.com, said: “Heroes today are becoming more Mark Zuckerberg than Jeremy Clarkson, as our busy lives become increasingly dominated by our use of technology."
