iPhone mini also expected this summer

4.8-inch iPhone 6 about to enter production?

Analyst Peter Misek believes that iPhone 6 is preparing to enter production ahead of its release in June/July.

Jefferies analyst Misek told investors in a note this week that Apple is testing two new iPhone prototypes. This coincides with a number of rumours suggesting there will be an iPhone 6/5S as well as a budget/mini smartphone released by Apple this year.

Misek predicts that the next gen iPhone will be 0.8-inches bigger than the latest model, which would give it a 4.8-inch screen.

"Similar to the iPad mini, we expect a concentrated low-cost iPhone rather than a ‘cheap’ one. Likely specs: polycarbonate case with 4in non-Retina display and no LTE," said MIsek.

At the beginning of the year, PCR reported that there were a number of reports indicating that Apple’s next iPhone device was already in use and running a future version of its iOS software.
