Indie retailer grabs the spotlight on TV show

Utopia Computers showcases overclocked PC on Gadget Show

Indie retailer Utopia Computers featured on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show on Monday night.

The episode in question saw presenter Jason build his own gaming PC to see how a low cost home build compared to a pricey pro model when playing games.

Craig Hume, Utopia’s director, commented: "Utopia was extremely proud to be featured on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show on Monday night. We have become well known for our custom bundles and systems within the high-end enthusiast market, and The Gadget Show were very eager to get their hands on one of our top-selling overclocked bundles.

"They built a custom PC around one of our extremely popular ‘Stinger’ overclocked bundles and put it head to head with a pre-built gaming machine from another retailer, and in their tests the custom built PC won hands down. Getting exposure of this scale just goes to show that with the right branding, even a smaller system builder like Utopia can compete with the big guys.

"This is just one of many, very exciting and game changing moves Utopia has planned for the coming months and just one of the reasons our vendors love working with us. Everyone in the team is very excited about 2013 and we have a feeling that this year is going to be huge for us!"
