Pen device manufacturer extends signature business as it moves into new market segments

Wacom targets new partners

Wacom has set its sights on considerably expanding its partner network in the UK.

The manufacturer, well known for its pen tablets, interactive pen displays, and electronic signature solutions, says it’s eager to develop new fields of application for its signature business in particular – in which signatures can be written on digital tablets.

Tony McCool, responsible for business development in the UK, Ireland and Benelux, wants to ensure the list of Wacom’s existing partner companies grows much longer to cover more market segments such as healthcare, finance or assurance.

In these partnerships, Wacom provides the hardware, and a relevant partner supplies the software – enabling users from retailers like Ikea through to firms such as O2 to use the combination as a complete solution, which they can use wherever signatures were written on paper, saving paper and increasing efficiency.

“Growing demand shows that the market holds enormous potential for signature tablets and we enable the appropriate solutions for all manner of companies,” said McCool. “Electronic signature solutions provide substantially more efficient working processes and lower costs, so that return on investment can be achieved more rapidly. Ultimately, companies can also save considerable amounts of paper.‘‘

Partners benefit from extensive access to Wacom’s developer tools and European support centre, as well as competitive system integrator conditions.

The firm offers extensive market support too, from fitting equipment for demonstration, to passing on leads and listing official partners on its website.

McCool explained why Wacom is keen to find new partners: “Our partnerships ensure that all clients receive sector-specific support . This is important when choosing the optimum product solution – and clearly distinguishes our range from standardised, inter- departmental solutions. We are very satisfied with the cooperation – it has developed our offer and helped to create a new areas of usage.”
