"It’s not the case that Administrators ‘hiked’ prices" says Deloitte

Comet price hike: administrator responds

Deloitte, administrator for Comet, has hit back at claims it has hiked prices during the retailers ‘liquidation sale’.

In response to PC Retail’s earlier article surrounding the price increases during the struggling retailer’s sales event, Deloitte has stated that "it’s not the case that the firm hiked prices."

However, it did acknowledge that customers can expect to experience price increases across certain products during the sale.

"There were some instances where manufacturers withdrew special offers/discounts – which were being funded by the manufacturers themselves – after Comet fell into administration," reads Deloitte’s response.

Aditionally, Deloitte has informed PC Retail that contrary to reports, there are no imminent plans for any closures of the retailer’s 236 stores or further redundancies.
