Support business extends its recruitment drive to cover wide range of candidates

PC PAL looks for experienced engineers

Computer repair franchise PC PAL has opened up its recruitment drive as it looks to expand.

Traditionally PC PAL has focused on hiring computer enthusiasts who might have little upfront experience in working in IT, before investing time and money into thoroughly training them.

However, PC PAL MD Jat Mann has told PCR that increasing demand for the firm’s services has led to a change in strategy: “We’re seeing more and more demand, especially in areas we don’t cover yet. So we’re going to spread our recruitment drive and look for people who already have some experience, with the aim of increasing our footprint in the UK.”

The firm is now keen to find interested people who already have some computing/IT engineering knowhow. Mann suggested that perhaps they work in IT, or have a shop, or do something part-time and want a different kind of challenge.

“Our intention was always to be a nationwide computer support network and that’s not done overnight. We’d like to accelerate it as we have a strong model and just need the right people to join us.”

PC PAL currently has 22 franchisees, and recently brought in a new franchise manager, June Falvey, to help support further expansion. The aim is to double the amount of franchisees over the next 18 months.

The firm has also now moved all training in-house, with the goal of making it easier for franchisees to pass their Microsoft and CompTIA exams whilst also going through marketing and business plan training.

Mann said interested candidates should give the company a ring, or taking a look at its website at franchise.pcpal.co.uk.
