Fourth year event shows continued growth

Technology Exposed ’12 puts focus on real-world solutions

Midwich once again opened the doors to its Technology Exposed event last month, which saw the industry’s leading manufacturers showcase their latest products to installers, retailers and resellers alike.

Now in its fourth year, the event, which is held at the prestigious Ascot racecourse, hosted over 70 vendors from different corners of the market, ranging from audio and visual, printing and scanning, right through to security, healthcare and consumer electronics.

This year’s expo encouraged retailers and resellers to bring along their customers and have them experience the latest products on offer for themselves first-hand, as no trade pricing was on show.

Partnered with this year’s Exposed event, Panasonic had a wide range of products on display from across its divisions, including its first ever lampless projector. The manufacturer had a firm focus on showcasing its interactive solutions, presenting products from its range of weather-proof displays and whiteboard systems designed for use within education and other learning environments.

Samsung was another key player in attendance at the event and continued to emphasise its partnership with the 2012 London Olympic Games and emblazon the Olympic spirit. Whilst unveiling its multi-touch SUR40 display for the first time in the UK last year, Samsung took the opportunity this year to show off its newest range of Smart TVs. New products were not the only treat in store for attendees of the event however, as the firm had its very own Olympic torch on display – and even had Team GB ambassadors and Olympic champions Denise Lewis and Daniel Purvis on hand to begin the day’s proceedings.

Other exhibitors included LG, Hannspree, Sony and Onkyo, which showcased their extensive consumer audio visual options, as well as Lexmark, Epsom, Oki and Kodak, which demonstrated their consumer and enterprise focused printing solutions, which ultimately proved to be a popular market on show.

In a first for this year’s expo, the event hosted three vertical solution areas that showcased varying technologies
and their application within real- world environments. These included solutions from the healthcare, command and control and leisure and hospitality markets, all of which allowed attendees to interact with and understand how they could benefit from these opportunities within their own business.
