A British court of appeal has ruled that Apple must display advertisements to ‘correct the damaging impression’ that Samsung had copied Apple’s iPad.
According to T3, the ruling came after Apple appealed a decision made in the UK that there was no way an ordinary user could confuse the iPad with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and would therefore not be ordering a freeze on sales of the Samsung device.
The panel had recently decided that the Samsung device was ‘not as cool’ as an iPad’ and therefore was unlikely to be confused for one.
Apple will also have to link to the ruling from its homepage.
