Distributor is one of the few IT firms in this year’s listings

VIP listed in Sunday Times Top Track

VIP Computers is one of seven IT companies to be listed in this year’s Sunday Times Top Track 250.

The Warrington-based distributor achieved sales of £183 million, earning it 225th place in the coveted listings. Since its founding in 1990, it has grown to offer services to a wide range of customers, from independent retailers to multinational retail chains, and has opened offices in Miami and Dubai allowing it to operate on three continents.

“We’re extremely proud to be one of the very few true technology firms to make the list and it is a great accolade for us," said the chairman of the VIP Group, Jatti Sahni.

"I’m thankful for our strong relationship with our suppliers and to our customers, many of whom are experiencing some of the toughest economic conditions they have ever known. As trading continues to be difficult for the whole industry, VIP has a talented team in place and we continue to invest in new technology and diversifying our product range."

VIP were one of seven IT businesses to be listed. Security specialists Kaspersky and Sophos were listed at 89 and 189 respectively, while reseller SoftCat was listed at number 104.

Meanwhile the strongest performance came from the managed service provider segment, with 2E2, Kelway and Civica, being awarded 56nd, 77th and 227th place respectively.
