Dixons prepares for a busy Christmas

Dixons Retail recruiting 3,000 workers over Christmas

The electrical retailer has announced that it is looking for over 3,000 employees to work across its 500 UK stores this Christmas.

As well as it’s Currys and PC World stores, there will be roles available throughout Dixons’ delivery and installation network.

Bridget Hutchison, head of resourcing for Dixons Retail, commented: “It’s an exciting – and busy – time of year. Our stores are packed with the latest technology from all the leading brands. We’re looking for people with a passion for retail and an even greater passion for helping customers and working in a team environment.”

New recruits can expect to join the existing team in giving advice and support to customers, with products as varied as iPads, TVs, headphones and coffee machines.

This news comes a week after Amazon announced that it would be hiring 10,000 UK workers for the holiday period, and three days after Dixons.co.uk officially closed down.

Some 2,500 of the available roles will be at Currys and PC World stores throughout the UK. 600 will be based at Newark, the Knowhow hub for national delivery, installation and product repair. 40 roles will be based in Sheffield, Knowhow’s contact centre.

Anyone interested in working for the retailer can find out more infomation at dixonsretail.com.
