We take a look at some of the top stories for the second week in September, which as you might guess are rather Apple-orientated for this particular week…

Apple reveals iPhone 5

On September 12th Apple unveiled the iPhone 5, which will be available on September 21st. It has a larger four-inch screen as well as a new A6 processor. It will be 4G capable (which will be handy for customers of the new EE network), but not everyone was overwhelmed by the new device.

Apple sues Polish grocer A.pl

In another fruity story, Apple is suing a Polish online supermarket in a bid to block the use of its online domain name, A.pl.

Intel reveals low-power ‘Haswell’ 4th gen processors at IDF 2012

The Intel Developer Forum took place this week in San Francisco, bringing together software and hardware developers to explore the latest technology. It also used the event to reveal its latest low-power processors.

Microsoft to open 32 pop-up shops in US as Surface nears launch

Just in time for the launch of Windows 8 and the Microsoft Surface tablet, the firm is due to ope 32 pop-up shops in the US, for the holiday period and potentially beyond it. Will the UK see MS stores next? Will they try to emulate the very distinctive Apple store style? Time will tell.

Prometheus movie to be available on download before retail

Yet another sign that we are fully in the digital era now – Ridley Scott movie Prometheus will be available for download before it’s available on disc. Get those hard drives ready to sell – entertainment is all about computers and streaming devices these days.
