LinkCast provides wireless HDMI connectivity for up to five sources

Altona’s award winning LinkCast to be distributed by Midwich

Altona’s LinkCast technology will be exclusively distributed through Midwich by the group’s AV specialists, True Colours, from August.

Winner of the Electronic House 2012 ‘Product of the Year’ award as well as CES 2012 Innovations Honours, the LinkCast provides wireless HDMI connectivity for up to five HD sources.

The LinkCast is a quick and easy way for users to get content from up to five HD sources – including laptops, game consoles, Blu-ray players and much more – to displays, projectors or AV receivers without the hassle and clutter of cables.

"LinkCast is a game-changer for consumers as well as residential AV installations," said Ilya Khayn, president and CEO, Atlona.

"Previous wireless connectivity solutions simply haven’t been a viable option for most systems. LinkCast is different in that it utilises the WHDI 1.0 protocol for wireless delivery of uncompressed video throughout the home at resolutions up to 1080p.

“It surpasses competitive technologies by providing 3D support and expandability to all connected sources, low latency, multiroom availability, low power consumption and outstanding and consistent picture quality that’s equivalent to wired HDMI cable."

LinkCast supports up to 1080p HD resolution, full 3D HDTV video, up to eight channels of digital audio and offers high-speed HDMI fully HDCP-compliant connections
