A third of consumers recognise phishing scams but are still lax about online shopping

Over half of UK consumers leave financial details exposed to cybercriminals

Kasperky Lab has revealed 58 per cent of UK consumers leave their personal details exposed, despite placing online financial security at the top of their list of safety priorities.

A study by Harris Interactive, commissioned by Kaspersky Lab, shows that although over a third of all those who took part have seen phishing messages trying to steal their personal details, many are still very casual about using their credit cards.

30 per cent of consumers use their credit cards for online purchases without a second though. To help protect personal and financial details, Kaspersky Lab has launched Kaspersky Internet Security 2013.

The software features a diverse set of protection methods for when users deal with real money online. Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 can automatically switch to ‘safe browser’ mode when visiting banking websites, it also has a virtual keyboard, designed to protect sensitive data against keyloggers.
