Adam Browning tells PCR all about the Midwich event

Technology in action: Why Midwich’s Technology Exposed event is a must-see

Midwich’s Adam Browning explains why the industry needs an event like Technology Exposed.

Taking place at the prestigious Ascot Racecourse on the 19th-20th September, Technology Exposed is the UK’s premier showcase for custom installers and resellers.

We feel it’s an unmissable opportunity to see the latest technologies and meet with key manufacturers across the audio visual, consumer electronics, print and imaging markets.

THE BIGGEST BRANDS
As ever, global electronics manufacturers will be showcasing the latest innovations and the hottest technologies first hand. Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Casio, NEC, Mitsubishi and Canon will be attending, as will specialists such as AV Stumpfl, Dexon, Exterity, Draper, TVOne, Intermec, Honeywell and Zebra.

REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE
In a first for the show, this year will feature three vertical solution areas showcasing the latest technologies and their applications in a simulated ‘real- world’ environment. Covering healthcare, command and control, and leisure and hospitality, these areas will be staffed by teams of experts to show resellers the exciting possibilities and business-growing opportunities in these markets.

THE FUTURE IN YOUR HANDS
There will be no trade pricing on show during the event so installers and resellers are free to bring along and impress their customers with the vast range of products in operation. Last year the crowds were wowed with the first UK showing of Samsung’s impressive multi-touch display, the SUR40.

This year’s event should be no exception, with a number of first showings already confirmed: Panasonic will be exhibiting its first lampless projector; Atlona will debut its Linkcast wireless HD distribution solution; Evoko’s room booking system will be demonstrated; the new Dexon 4000 series video wall controller will get its UK debut; the Avaya Flare Experience communication application is on show; while B-Tech will be launching its new ‘pop out’ videowall mounting solution.

Technology Exposed 2012 will also bring together experts from each company of the Midwich group including: True Colours (technical AV solutions); Invision UK (integrated AV solutions for residential, commercial and marine applications); Owl Visual (leisure and hospitality); Synergix (barcode solutions); Square One, the AV and IT distributor offering local insight and knowledge to the Irish market; new security division Midwich Security; specialist in residential custom installations, MidwichHome; and the latest addition to the group, pro audio specialist RW Salt.

“From the outset, interest in Technology Exposed was unprecedented,” explains Stephen Fenby, managing director of Midwich. “The huge number of vendors, and the crowds of visitors who attend, prove that our industry needs this event. In addition to a substantial sales team, we will have directors, business management, credit, marketing and IT teams on site. Customers can discover how we can help their businesses grow with our services such as data feeds, customer credit intelligence and marketing support.

“This year we would particularly encourage our customers to bring along their end-users in order to see products and solutions first hand. For resellers and their customers, no other show in the UK brings together so many manufacturers and technologies under one roof.”
