Recording glitch means viewers may miss out on the Olympics action

Humax Freesat box can’t record BBC Olympics channels

Owners of Humax Freesat digital TV boxes won’t be able to record any of the BBC’s temporary Olympics channels.

Humax have acknowledge that its Foxsat-HDR set-top box recorder has a glitch which means it refuses to record any of the 24 live action channels that the BBC has set up for all the London 2012 action.

Freesat’s marketing materials heavily promote the ‘summer of sport’, but owners of the Humax model could miss out on sporting moments, at least until the problem is fixed.

Freesat has stressed that the Humax Foxsat-HDR is the only box suffering with recording problems.

Humax are making efforts to resolve the fault but it’s looking like a software update isn’t likely until early next week.

"It’s been an Olympic feat in itself to get the 24 streams working and we really hope this doesn’t stop you enjoying London 2012," tweeted Freesat.
