Motorola's latest budget phone will feature Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Motosmart: Motorola’s new budget Android smartphone

Motorola’s latest smartphone will cost just £100.

Available in the UK from T-Mobile, Motosmart focuses on creating a ‘stress free life’.

It features the latest version of MotoSwitch – software that learns which songs you love, who you talk to the most and which apps you use throughout your day. MotoSwitch then places all this information on your home screen for easy access.

Motosmart has a 3.5-inch display, making it the same size as the iPhone 4S, but with a lower resolution screen.

Powered by an 800MHz processor, the smartphone features a 3-megapixel camera.

“Simply put, Motosmart makes life easier,” said Victoria McManus, marketing director, UK & Nordics, Motorola Mobility. “You don’t have to worry about complicated settings and hard-to-follow instructions. Just turn this smartphone on and get instant access to the people and things in your life that matter most.”

Although Motosmart is a ‘simple-to-use’ smartphone, it’s still a shame that it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread – two versions behind the latest edition of Google’s OS system for phones, but what did you expect for a budget smartphone?

Well, there are rumours that rival budget handsets will feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – only one version behind the latest OS Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Thinking about buying the Motosmart? This ever so slightly over the top trailer might help you decide:
